OBITUARY
Carpenter Stanton.
Carpenter Stanton, one of the best known and most highly respected residents of the Town of Newburgh, died on Saturday last [22 Aug] at his late residence at Gardnertown, aged 66 years, 6 months and 6 days. The deceased was born in the immediate vicinity of where he died, and since his marriage to Abbie Jane Milburn, in 1855, has always lived in the house in which he died. He was a blacksmith by trade, but for 25 years past has also manufactured all the lawn mower handles for the Chadborn & Coldwell Lawn Mower Mfg. Co., in connection with his business.
He leaves three sisters, his wife and one child, P. Cole Stanton, of this city, to mourn his loss.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday [25 Aug] at 2 o'clock from the Gardnertown M. E. Church.
