Sarah Kessler Babcock. 77, of Richmond, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Babcock; and her sister, Mary K. Camper. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Houston and her husband, Grover of Richmond, Va.; her son, Charles "Jack" Babcock and his wife, Sandy of Glen Allen, Va.; three grandsons, Robert Koczynski of New Jersey, John Todd Babcock of Chesterfield and Christopher A. Babcock of Sodas Point, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Christina M. Carter and her husband, Wayne of Louisiana and Helena L. Wood of Sandston; two great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, several nieces and nephews and lots of very close friends. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 144, Highland Springs and Alpha Iota Sorority. She was a member of Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church. Friends may call at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with an American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
