Mary Rose DeBoer, Matriarch of the Tarantino family, passed away into God’s hands on August 25, 2004. She was born on July 3, 1921 in Suffern and was a lifelong resident of the village. She spent the last 2 ½ years in loving care at Sunrise Assisted Living in New City, NY. She worked for Orange and Rockland Utilities for 18 years before retiring in 1986. Above all, she loved her home and her family and endowed a wonderful sense of humor on her children. She was predeceased by her husband, Garrett, in 1985, and she leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Laura Kelly of Sloatsburg, NY; Garry and Carolyn DeBoer of Spring Lake, MI; Christopher and Linda Wilcox of Great Falls, VA; her grandchildren: Sean, Ryan and Keith Kelly, Carly, and Amanda DeBoer, and Stuart and Phillip Wilcox. She also leaves behind her brother and his wife, William and Ann Tarantino of Suffern, and her sisters: Peggy and husband, Richard Stevens of Chestnut Ridge, NY and Katherine Stanton of Pearl River, NY and many adoring nieces and nephews. Mary’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Scarr Funeral Home, Inc., Route 202, Suffern. Burial will follow at the Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY. Friends may call on Friday from 7-9 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. SCARR FUNERAL HOME, INC.
