 | 1827 George Stanton Will Probated The People of the State of Newyork, by the Grace of God Free and Independent: To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting. Know ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the thirty first day of October [31 Oct] instant before David H. Tuthill Surrogate of our said County of Orange, the last will and testament of George Stanton late of the town of NewBurgh in the said County or Orange deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is not approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels or credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong to us; the administration of all and singular, the goods chattels & credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Isaac Wood one of the Executors in the said will named he being, first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of Office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Witness Daniel H. Tuthill Esquire Surrogate of our said County of Orange the thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven [31 Oct 1827] and of our Independence the fifty second. In the name of God Amen. I George Stanton of the Town of NewBurgh in the County of Orange and State of New York being weak in body but of sound mind and memory blessed God do make & publish this my last will and testament In manner and form following. And first I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me and for my body to the earth from whence it came hopeing[sic] through the death and suffering of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to have a joyful resurrection, and for such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bestow on me I dispose of the same in the following manner and first I order and direct that all my Real estate be equally divided between my daughter Philena Belknap my son Samuel Stanton and Catherine Stanton widow of Richard Stanton deceased
